Top pool has some cracking fish in it, but despite its size, in my opinion it ain't an easy water. I only fish it for the Catfish but have picked up the odd good sized Carp on 2 x 20mm pellets. Those I've seen Carp fishing tend to fish tight to the far bank, or to the numerous features that are developing as the water matures nicely. The Carp can be quite visible on the surface cruising around in the warmer months. Like any water never ignore the margins, and I'd say it's more a case of fishing accurately on there rather than any particular wonder bait.
Take a rake, thr amount of goose crap is crazy. Puts me off fishing there. Went for a walk around in March and it was lovely. Went in may and the Canada geese had moved In. Each to their own, but I can't be doing camping in crap.
