Vale Session

Its hard to get information on stocks, I'm in my 2nd season with lymm and still figuring it out. There's a WordPress document somewhere on the Web with stocking records. I believe 3 large cats were stocked many years ago. The big one rumoured to be over 100lb now.....who knows. Dead or alive. I'd like to think alive but it's not been seen for a few years. And with the amount of lines in the water, why hasn't it been caught. Backup large fish of nearly 60lb proven. Then there's a 40. I've caught 2 different 30s and seen a few large teens and 20s out. It's a big deep lake. Plenty of kittens so they are breeding well. I recon there are more cats than people think. It's all about finding them. I've had many sessions on the Vale. Last night was my best one. Although I did hook into something really big last year but the hook pulled. Be interesting to see if any others comment with captures.

The biggest one some years ago was 67lb caught by Ian Futcher, a past member. That was officially the biggest at the time. Must be going back 10 years at least.

Fished a few times whilst the work was taking place. I know a lot have moaned with all the work and the tree felling, but I walked around when I arrived yesterday and got to admit the place is looking really tidy. Good effort from the groundsman in charge and the help he's had from others. Job well done.

All the stumps are now growing well and we can concentrate on creating a quality fishery that is safe for anglers and fish alike

And plan to create a habitat for nature is ongoing
