I read it's "a low stock specimen water" approx how many carp are in there? I believe it's harder than Serp, but probably not that hard..? Guessing mid - upper doubles is the average in there with the odd 20 here n there?
I almost joined around10yrs ago...a guy called Jez took me around a few lymm waters and back then Belmont was a popular runs water..guessing it's a new stock of fish after a fish kill some years ago? Are there any original stock that survived? Or is it just the new stock if so how many stickies went in?
From what I remember a lot of the fish went off to a well earned retirement I think two were left in there. It was then re stocked throughout the years I think as a guesstimate it’s at around 49-52 with the odd few very low singles that have either snook over from willow (though the pipe) and maybe the odd one that has spawned in there. I won’t tell you sizes as it spoils the fun of working a water out IMO. Some people find it easy on there for most it’s far from a runs water I guess it al depends on your angling ability!
It’s been fully emptied during covid and a lot of new stock of quality fish
There as a mixed bag of fish but we believe some smallee fish have somehow found their way into Belmont but will be removed this winter when we do a biomass check and make sure fish are in good condition.
We will let everyone know what’s happening at the Agm
Well serps biggest is 29lb when it was netted but Belmont has not been netted since stocking but is planned for this winter and we will know what’s in there
Cheers for that Jason.
