Fished the water yesterday (Tuesday 17th June). Firstly an issue that will probably affect the smaller fish stock and also surrounding wildlife. An adult mink and at least 2 young spent virtually the whole day swimming back and to from both main banks ( definately a mink and not an otter ).
Second issue is at about 5pm a group of 4 teenagers on bikes rode around to the far bank shouting and swearing and weighed up whether to enter the water or not...luckily the sun went in and the weather turned overcast which put them off. They had obviously been in the water the previous day because I heard one of them shout "it's warmer than yesterday" as he put his arm into the water. As the weather starts to get warmer this may become a daily issue.
I think there were 5 other anglers fishing the water yesterday so hopefully they will confirm the above issues and if they've noticed these issues previously.
They shouldn't have access to the water obviously climbing over the gate if you see this call the club by whatever contact details you have and bailiff will come and clear them off I think members should be pro active in stopping this as baliff can't be there all the time I have recently cleared teenagers of founders and reported to head baliff about non members on serpentine have been offered baliff position and will help but it is down to members to self help the club and this should be second nature for the clubs future as this will be more common if anglers do nothing about it themselves
